history of pants has begun from a skirt. Thousand years in men’s and women’s
clothes are dominated skirts and aprons. During the history, beginning
from the Ancient World, the form and shapes of pants has undergone a lot
of changes. First, pants were only clothing for men and only in XVI century
were appearance first female long panties as the underwear clothing, and
became widespread only in the beginning of XX century. For a long time
women wanted adopt this men's clothing. But as historians assert that it
has begun with the national heroine of France Jeanne (XV century) who was
the first woman in Europe, who dared wear men's pants. Nevertheless women
couldn’t wear pants immediately. Pants from man's wardrobe have slowly shifted into the females only at the beginning of the XX century. First the most courageous ladies wore it for going for a cycle ride. Then they became working clothes. During the First World War woman had to replace men in many kinds of activities, which couldn't be done without pants. Then pants was worn that to imitate Marlene who appeared in them not only on the screen, but also she used them as working clothes on a set. And it was found out that women feel comfortable in pants, that women looks beautiful and sexual in pants. And still anybody didn't protest against them any more. Since 1940 years in Los Angeles opened the era of ladies' jeans, but men could wear it for hundred years before women. Rather recently, in 1960th years, at the Cambridge University the female students couldn't even wear pants on lessons. But today such clothes like pants of the modern woman can envy any man. There are jeans, palazzo pants, leggings, gauchos, shorts, tapered leg pants, baggy corduroy pants, and cropped pants and so on. |
